리서치를 기반으로 하는 저희 프로젝트에서는 지금까지 약 40여명의 청년이 젊음의 시간을 빈곤과 싸우며 보냈습니다.

이 시간들을 디딤돌 삼아 이들 중 상당수는 현재 국제기구, 주요 NGO에서 일하거나, 연관된 영역의 박사과정 (경제학, 개발학, 사회학, 보건학)에 재학 중이기도 합니다.

Research Associate - Project Malawi, Africa Future Foundation

Professors Hyuncheol Bryant Kim and Jim Berry (Cornell University) seek qualified applicants for a position as a Research Associate in Lilongwe, Malawi. The Research Associate will work on projects in mother and child health and nutrition, HIV/AIDS prevention in secondary schools, and scholarships and tutoring in primary schools. The position will offer an opportunity to gain first-hand field management experience in an organization undertaking cutting-edge development research.

Key Responsibilities

The Research Associate will work closely with academic researchers and other field staff to perform a variety tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Designing survey questionnaires, running pilot exercises, refining study design, and conducting qualitative research
  • Supervising data collection and data-entry
  • Assisting in finding project partner(s) and maintaining partner relationships
  • Overseeing the implementation of the evaluation in accordance with the research design
  • Assisting with data cleaning and preliminary data analysis
  • Assisting in preparation of documents and presentations for donor reporting as well as dissemination activities

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in economics, social sciences, public health, or related fields. Training in microeconomics and econometrics/statistics is preferred. A Master’s degree in economics or a related field is also a plus.
  • Past experience living in a developing country and working in the health and/or education sectors is a strong plus.
  • Excellent management and organizational skills along with strong quantitative skills.
  • Fluency and excellent communication skills in English
  • Flexibility, self-motivation, ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and ability to work in teams.
  • Ability to manage high-level relationships with partner organizations
  • Knowledge of Stata (strongly preferred) or other data analysis software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with randomized controlled trials is preferred.
